I fangirled Athos and Mr. Darcy and Mercutio back in junior high before I even knew that’s what I was doing. I always felt like I should outgrow it, like maybe a grown woman who loved Johnny Depp and Viggo Mortensen to the extent that I did was just a little unnatural. You know, immature, like maybe I’d never made the leap to adulthood in some part of my brain. Especially since my inner fangirl seems to be about 15 years old. I honestly think I’ll still be fannish when I’m old and grey and that inner fangirl will still be a teenager. When I found fandom, that was when I realized that there are thousands and thousands of fangirls out there and suddenly it was like coming home. I don’t worry that my fannishness is unnatural or weird anymore. Now I see that it’s creative and enthusiastic and that it forges connections all around the world and that ultimately, it’s about love. I started writing about two years ago, after a very long hiatus of not writing anything for years. My first fic was schmoopy, porny Jack/Sawyer (Lost) slash. After that I was hooked. I take my writing pretty seriously, even though it’s “just” fanfic. I work at it, I fret about it, I occasionally angst about it. I try really hard to get it right. I love feedback, so if you like something let me know. If you don't like it, I prefer you just keep it to yourself. I’m het-impaired for the most part, though I’ll read it once in a blue moon, if it’s a writer I really like. Mostly I read slash. I’ll read a variety of pairings, even ones that don’t really do much for me, if the writing’s good. You really should know that I write about sex and the sex I write is explicit. Oh, there’s a bunch of other stuff in my stories – characterization (hopefully IC), plot (sometimes), angst (not my forte, but it’s in there), loads of emo (what can I say, I’m a girl) – but ultimately my fics are about sex. I write gay sex for women readers (male readers are welcome, but I doubt I have any) and I try to make it as hot as I can and I almost always try to make it about something more than dicks and asses, because I’m a girl and like I said, I like the emo. I was describing my fic the other day to a friend thusly – a lot of blah, blah, blah, emo this, emo that, then there’s fucking with a lot of adjectives and unrealistic orgasm imagery and then they cuddle up together and it rains lollipops and candy floss. Well, I think that's pretty accurate. Oh what else to know? I dislike wank, but don’t we all? Still, if someone says something that really rubs me wrong I’ll speak up. I try to pick my battles wisely though. I guess I’m pretty opinionated. Friends who’ve met me in person say I’m more hard-edged online. Yeah, that’s probably true. I read in a lot of fandoms, even ones where I'm not particularly invested in canon. I don't think I could ever limit myself to a single fandom. I write in whatever fandom inspires me at the time. It changes, though Lost has usually been that fandom for me. I try to be a good friend, with varying degrees of success. I never feel like I’m there enough for my friends. I’m loyal though, I know that for a fact.  MY FANDOMS *Lost* I favor Sayid and Sawyer, especially together, though I write other pairings as well. I kinda love the both of them insanely though. Yeah, off the charts, unconditional love. As for the other characters, I pretty much like them all (as in 'find them all interesting', not necessarily as in 'am fond of all them'). I have a tortured relationship with Lost. I bitch about it a lot. I’m not a non-critical viewer, so if you friend me, you may at some point get to see me at my crankiest. I put my bitching behind a cut, at least. At times I still think it’s a brilliant show and when it is, there’s nothing else on TV that can touch it. *Popslash* Who’d have thought that at this point in my life I’d be fangirling *NSYNC? Ah, fandom. You just never know what's going to grab you next. It’s all ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif){kind=small} themoononastick’s fault, who fostered my love of/lust for JC Chasez and from there it was an easy leap to the whole damn group, Chris and Lance paired with JC in particular, though I’ll read any pairing if the writing’s good.*Supernatural* God, I love that show. It’s just such great TV. I mostly read in this fandom, having written only one fic. I’d like to write more, but I just haven't gotten there yet. I love Sam, but I’m a Dean girl, all the way. Dean, I just get him. He makes sense to me. And I love him to death and beyond. He breaks me like no other TV character can, and I love him for it. *Robin Hood* I've only written a bit so far, but I love being able to set fics in the Middle Ages, so chances are I'll write more. I'm very open as to pairings for this show - I think that I could write a variety of them. *Heroes* I've been into the show from the start. I don't read much Heroes fic at this point, though I could see getting back into it when the show starts up again. For now, I guess I'm kind of on hiatus. *Harry Potter* My first fandom, I still love it like whoa. I’ve recently written my first HP fic, which I probably should have done years ago, but I was too intimidated to try. But I’ve read in it A LOT. Ships: Sirius/Severus (which is just a disastrous pairing to be sure, but I did love it so) and Harry/Draco. I also read Marauder’s Era fic, any combo. *Lotrips* This fandom grabbed me simply because the writing is so good. Viggo is my guy. Viggo is just… amazing. I mostly read VigBean, but I also like him with Dom - really, I’ll take him any way I can get him. I also have a weakness for Sir Ian (because he is made of awesome), especially with Dom. At the moment I’m… ~ Writing a lot. ~ Working on finishing up my many, many WIPs. ~ Procrastinating doing things I ought to be doing.
